Meridiam is an investment fund focused in public infrastructure, plans to finance a major project of renewable electricity in Morocco, the development director and head of the African pole at Meridiam, Julien Touati stated.

The said project which aspires to boost Morocco’s energy independence and which is one of four main concern projects classified in Africa that will be financed by a pan-African fund to be administered by Meridiam. The director averred this during an interview, noting that the African continent is included in the strategic vision of the Fund.

He said Meridiam has already identified numerous probable and possible partners, as well as the Solar Energy Agency (MASEN) and the National Water and Electricity Utility (ONEE), noting that the kingdom is one of the most established areas in Africa.
