Considered among the most important city lanes, Al Moukawama Boulevard awaits the start of Commune for programming its redevelopment.
Stretching at 6 kilometers, the boulevard allows a fast and direct connection with several points of the seaside city. It is also open on the highway and also on the coastal road, thus avoiding transit through the center of the lower town.
Although classified among the most famous avenues in the city of Mohammedia, the charm of this boulevard has eventually faded and become the subject of a continuing decline. It also has spots that hinder the urban landscape. For the city’s sustainable development, the Al Moukawama Boulevard should be given priority.
Some work has been done including the installation of red lights and putting roundabouts on part of the road while projects related to traffic and road safety are still needed. The Micalla section intersecting between Al Moukawama Boulevard and Hassan II Boulevard characterized by a large traffic, where several schools and homes have taken up residence which needs more traffic lights, roundabouts and speed limit requirement.
On the other hand, aesthetic and environmental aspects also need some improvement to be done particularly the block of slums on both sides of the boulevard. Green spaces, designed, including the side of the axial refuge are also waiting for redevelopment.
