Over DH9 million dispersed by the Zakat Fund to qualified recipients for the month of July in order to provide financial and moral support to the deprived and socially disadvantaged people and making them more prolific members of the society.
Among the beneficiaries of the fund are the orphans, low-income and unemployed individuals, widows and the elderly. There are more than DH2 million were given to low-income families and Dh1 million to students as for educational assistance.
To quickly accommodate and react to various request and applications, more than 10 meetings were held by the Fund. The applications submitted were cautiously verified and scrutinized according to the planned criteria to find out those who will receive the financial aid and who complied with Fund’s regulations and conditions.
Starting this year, the Zakat Fund outlaid approximately DH2.83 million on beneficiaries of the “Well-being” project for patients. The Fund also disseminated more than DH3 million this year to help UAE citizens with special needs.
