Second bunch of Housing subsidy amounting to $315 million or AED1.16 billion has been disseminated to UAE nationals as part of the Sheikh Zayed Housing Program to provide appropriate residence for all the locals with a modern infrastructure of homes.
About a total of 1,369 recipients were given agreement for the grant after the 2,854 people who received approval from the first batch of funding worth $362 million or AED 1.33 billion circulated in October last year.
The inking of the names of beneficiaries was held at a conference headed by the chairman of the program and Minister of Public Works. He announced that the houses to be put up must be situated within residential complexes and must be reasonably priced in order to avoid any burden of extra costs, with government bearing liability within complexes for utilities and service costs as instructed by the Deputy Prime Minister Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed.
Efforts of the local governments all around the country were also acknowledged particularly in administering the program and the essential permits, and also making the plots available for the construction of the homes.
