In the presence of 22 hotel representatives, The Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) recently held a seminar concerning the process of connecting the Dubai Tram to hotels at the time of its launching scheduled later this year.
The investors and representatives were encouraged to prepare strategies and proposals and these collections will be reviewed to find out the ones with potential in improving the efficacy of the Tram which is nearing completion.
During the event, a preliminary consultation was included stressing the incorporation of the Dubai Tram and other transportation methods as well as the neighboring areas to facilitate a safe and smooth transport for the users and commuters. Plans were proposed to link the Dubai Marina station and Jumeirah Lakes station, as well as the link that will connect the Tram, buses and other transport means at the Dubai Marina.
The importance of the Tram including the other means of public transportation was also taken into consideration which could minimize the traffic congestions and the promotion of the public transport to the community and vacationers. In order to deliver good service to the customers, the RTA is planning to supply NOL cards and maps illustrating the tram stations at the hotels.
Expected to open on November 2014, the tramline features 11 stations and is measured around 11 kilometers long. The first phase of the project operates at Al Sufouh, Dubai Marina, Jumeirah Beach Residence and the Knowledge Village.
