The all new Salik e-vouchers launched by Dubai Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) are now obtainable at 3,000 stores across the UAE and the service will be available before the end of this year.
In partnership with the largest retailer and distributor of mobile devices and accessories in the region, the new service will be offered and functions comparable to those available in supermarkets and groceries for etisalat and du mobile top-up. Salik top-up is now as easy as recharging prepaid mobile connections. The voucher will work as a new payment method along with the existing payment options.
This course of action emphasizes the dedication of the RTA to offer high quality and notable customer service while simultaneously dealing with logistical concerns and protect the environment through getting rid of the procedures of transporting and delivering cards to suppliers.
Since its launch in 2007, Salik or Dubai’s road toll system ensures smooth flow of traffic on the roads as it runs without toll booths or barriers. Toll gates were built at Al Garhoud Bridge and on Shaikh Zayed Road near Mall of the Emirates and four more gates followed at Al Safa and Al Maktoum Bridge, also at Al Mamzar and Airport Tunnel, which were established early last year.
Although there is no confirmation yet if the new vouchers will replace the existing recharge cards, it was announced that customers can continue to use a selection of e-channels for topping up their balance with the RTA. Customers can now top up a friend’s Salik account through this new e-voucher according to the procedure given over the phone via text message.
