Dubai Municipality’s waste management will be expanding its vision to persuade more residents to do the habit of recycling and waste segregation, thus minimizing the amount of garbage disposed to landfill.
The ‘My City, My Environment’ drive is being pushed through by the department in association with its stakeholders, across all parts of Jumeirah, Al Safa, Al Manara, Al Barsha, Umm Suqueim, and Umm Al Seif.
According to the Director of Waste management department this move is in preparation for the upcoming Expo 2020 which will be hosted by Dubai aiming to make a clean and green environment.
The initiative will provide green bins to every home and ask the residents to organize reusable and recyclable waste. The bins are then collected by the authorities and the waste is processed appropriately.
In addition, since the Emirate conforms to global standards, the promoters launched several programs to form a healthy ecosystem which they believe will be a great success with the help of public support. in actual fact, Dubai residents have always supportive for anything regarding the recycling in this city.”
The campaign is also supported by Trashco, Averda and Dulsco, in channeling its vision across to each and every doorstep. The UAE has also supported many campaigns and connected with many global entities to encourage the world’s vision of having green environment.
