Waiting for its fifth anniversary on September 9, Dubai Metro has been considered the most preferred form of public transport in the city because of its high frequency, extensive connectivity, unfailing punctuality and above all, savings in terms of cost and travel time.
Despite the major uncertainties about the extent of its usage, in its five years of existence, passengers who have been riding the Metro gave generally favorable remarks implying it as a success. According to a regular passenger, Dubai Metro has made the impossible possible as it transports more than 455 million passengers at 768,484 times on and over the Red and Green Lines until July 2014.
From nannies and nurses to senior management across offices, hospitals, restaurants and stores, regular passengers swear by the Dubai Metro that the system is getting better by the day. Things have become easier with feeder buses and state-of-the-art technology.
A South African air traffic controller said he rides the Metro to go to jam-packed areas where parking space is hard to find and also expressed the enjoyment of riding the well-organized and clean trains in the Metro. Even tourists can tell the difference in terms of security.
The Dubai RTA was encouraged by the passengers to introduce more feeder buses and improve connectivity to New Dubai gated communities.
