The spectacular countdown celebration New Year’s Eve Gala 2014 marked Dubai which attracted over 1 million visitors on the said eve.
Prepared and set by American pyro-technician firm, the staggering display of fireworks is a world record of 400,000 shots fired in the sky from 400 locations on the Palm Island and the islands of The World.
The extravagant fireworks displays have costs $20 million that features extraordinary lake show ‘Water, Fire & Light’, used 100 computers to synchronize the pyrotechnics, along with a choreographed musical soundtrack.
Guinness World Record officials have confirmed that the title for World’s Largest Fireworks Display is throne back to Dubai. GWR team inspected the sites doing the final count of how many fireworks exploded.
Covering a distance of over 94km (61.6 miles) of the city’s seafront, the display incorporated some of Dubai’s top landmarks, including Palm Jumeirah, World Islands, the Burj Khalifa and Burj Al Arab, Guiness World Record said.
Dubai’s New Year’s 2014 fireworks display obviously outshone the record set in 2012 to mark Kuwait’s 50th National Day, in which more than 77,000 fireworks were launched.
