Morocco’s largest phosphate rock and derivatives market enterprise Youssoufia TO GO WITH AFP STORY BY EMILE KOUTON PiPhosphates (OCP) announced that a budget of 90 million dirhams has been prepared to support phosphate research and development projects in the country.
Since the Ministry of Higher Education is concentrating on increasing the capacity of technology platforms, this fund will be utilize for the mobilization of its research structures through the acquisition of equipment dedicated to selected projects as well as for the introduction of education on the phosphate level university courses.
The fund will be also used for the National Centre for Scientific and Technical Research’s (CNRST) allocation of grants for deserving graduate students involved in the projects selected.
OCP underscores the deployment of tools and mechanisms to successfully implement the recommendations which aims to fuel up research in the UK around the phosphates and reach the level of international standards. One of the priorities is the creation of a Research Award phosphate.
The establishing of a research management to share best practices and propagate the results of research and the organization of a biennial conference is said to be an upright step to merge all resources.
On the other hand, the Department of Higher Education Minister called for a revitalization of research as a lever for the knowledge society complementing that fiscal restrictions and unmanageable administrative procedures are no longer suitable.
