A contest for young Moroccan fashion designers was hosted by Casablanca City thatCasablanca Competition Showcases Young Moroccan Fashion Designer showcases talents and creativity of artists in the fashion industry.
Casa Del Arte Society held last October 26, opened an exhibition for visitors and design lovers and discussed the nature of innovation and creativity in the international arts industry. The event also displays “Fabrikàmode” projects which exactly describes the innovation and creativity of young Moroccans fashion designers.
Headed by Lilia Yip, an independent fashion designer and owner of the mark Lilia Yip, The Fabrikàmode competition aims to discover young fashion designers in Morocco, overseen by a group of fashion experts from the University of Brighton, in the UK.
The project initially supported young Moroccan designers through providing advanced training for 35 students and young designers from the Academy of Casa Moda and the Graduate School of textile and clothing industry in Casablanca.
Students who are about to graduate and will enter the fashion business world must be equipped with the skills and the approaches that will lead them to success in the global market.
The competition includes design workshops where students were able to discuss their problems and learn how to deal with it. Workshops related to fashion design and trademark research, and include practical sessions on the management of fashion companies also took place.
Teams of designers will compete against each other during a fashion show at the Casa Moda Academy for a chance to become the best new label in Morocco on December 2013. The jury will be composed of a team of professional designers and leaders in the Moroccan apparel industry.
