Over DH103 million was invested as part of the National Human Rights Institutions (NHRIs) in Boujdour province during the period 2005 to 2014 to finance projects to fight against poverty, instability and social exclusion while strengthening infrastructure and upgrading of local capacity.

According to the division of social work in the province of Boujdour, 313 projects, benefiting 46,000 people have been made since 2005 in the framework of the partnership between NHRIs, and associations, cooperatives, elected councils, external services and the Agency in the South which contributed about 76 million dirham.

These projects are distributed among the income-generating activities, the access to social services and basic infrastructure, cultural, social and sports activities, for the technical support, training, skills and support to good governance and for the construction, equipment and upgrading of centers.

Following the areas of intervention, 59 projects have been completed under the program to fight against social exclusion in urban areas, for a budget of 33 million dirham, 41 projects worth 23 million dirham are part of the fight against insecurity and marginalization and 213 at 47 million dirham in the parallel program.

Meanwhile, Laayoune mobilized DH8.68 million to fight against social exclusion in urban areas in 2014, the most important projects within this framework include the set of 16 green areas, with a total area of 174,500 square meters in several areas for DH7 million which will create jobs for people in insecure situations, while DH200, 000 was allocated for the supervision, monitoring and support of projects by the team. A budget of DH 120,000 has also been allocated for the acquisition of machinery, equipment and premises in favor of cooperatives and associations, which is likely to promote the vibrancy of neighborhoods, income-generating activities and post employment.

Around 335 million dirham has been invested in the region of Laayoune-Boujdour-Sakia El Hamra between 2005 and 2013 as part of the NHRI. According to data from the section of social action in the provinces concerned, 881 projects were funded under different programs of the NHRI which 475 projects accounts for theĀ  province of Laayoune, for a total cost of 170 million dirham.
