Rabat: $136 million worth of donation has been granted from Qatar government to support two agricultural projects in the Ouezzane province from north and in the districts of Sous Massa Derâa and Guelmim-Es Smara from south.

The irrigation of the Asjen zone in Ouezzane is the first project while the second one aspires at coordinating transhumance in the semi-Saharan and Saharan zones of Sous Massa Derâa and Guelmim Es-Smara.

The said donation was inked in Rabat by the Minister of Economy and Finance, Mohammed Boussaid and Ali Sheriff Al Emadi, his Qatari counterpart.

Meanwhile, it was reported that the agriculture industry in Morocco enjoys an absolute tax exception. Morocco’s agricultural capability is matched by few other Arab or African nations. It is one of the few Arab regions that has the ability to accomplish self-sufficiency in food production.
